Sade sent out a statement that indicated the release of ‘The Ultimate Collection’ is scheduled for May 3. This album is the follow-up album to Soldier Of Love that went platinum after its release. There will be two CDs in the album and will feature three songs that have never been heard until now. One of these songs is “Moon & The Sky” which is done in collaboration with Jay-Z. Also on the album will be the sould band’s most recognized songs off of the Best Of Collection, Lover’s Rock, and Soldier Of Love.

The upcoming 32nd Montreal International Jazz Festival will feature the biggest names in the music festival circuit from all music genres lead by Robert Plant and his new band, the Band of Joy, R&B star John Legend, soul songstress Sade and legendary troubadour, Buddy Guy.

Those looking forward to the complete list of performers for the indoor show could get a hold of it on April 6, while the list of performers for the outdoor show will be released in June.

In celebration of Record Store Day, iconic rock band Deftones will release a compilation of their own renditions of various hits ranging from various genres, one of which is their cover of Sade’s 1992 chart topper and critically acclaimed hit, “No Ordinary Love”, which earned the female soul artist a Grammy Award in 1994.

R&B Hip Hop Grammy Awards go to Usher, Jay-Z, and Sade. Alicia Keys, Eminem, Fantasia, and Rihanna are also among the winners at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.

As a result of his number one album “The Blueprint 3,” Jay Z won enough Grammys to tie with John Legend for the most R&B and Hip Hop awards at the most recent Grammy Awards.

Sunday night, in Los Angeles, the awards were given out. Jay Z won 2 out of 3 Grammys for his work with Alicia Keys on “Empire State of Mind.” This song beat out other songs from Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, and B.o.B. Jay Z also won the “Best Rap Song” Grammy and the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy. The “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group” Grammy went to Jay-Z for his work on the Swizz Beatz song “On To The Next One.”

John Legend won the same number of Grammys as did Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter. He won for “Best R&B Song,” “Best R&B Album,” and “Best Traditional Vocal Performance.”

John Legend, with two nominations from the NAACP Awards and several from the Grammys, will be taking his sultry music on the road. Legend has been tapped to open the dates in North America on the upcoming world tour of Sade’s. The two acts will be performing in stadiums all over the country.

Legend is appearing in all 17 dates in the U.S. Sade will then continue without Legend to wrap up the tour of 50 dates overseas. Legend will be joining the tour at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore on June 16. Stops include Nassau Coliseum in New York, Amway Center in Orlando, United Center in Chicago and Staples Center in Los Angeles. The U.S. leg will wrap up in Anaheim, California at Honda Center on August 30.

Newcomer Willow Smith, Kayne West, Usher and Sade are among the performers with multiple nominations from the recording category of the NAAP’s upcoming Image Awards.

On January 12 nominees for the this year’s awards were announced in Beverly Hills, CA at Paley Center for Media at a press conference. The telecast for this year’s 42nd annual ceremony will be broadcast on Fox on March 4.

After a decade of being off the radar in the music biz, Sade returns to the scene with a bang with “Soldier of Love”, the critically acclaimed and platinum certified 2010 release by the soul/jazz/R&B band.

The album has held the top spot in the Billboard 200 for three weeks upon its release. It also spawned the tracks “Babyfather” and the title lead track “Soldier of Love”, which not only made waves in the AC charts – Urban Hot AC Chart (debuted at no.11), Smooth Jazz Airplay Chart (no.5) and the Smooth Jazz Top 20 (no.1) – but also earned two Grammy Award nominations, Best Pop Vocal by a Group and Best R&B vocal by a Group for “Babyfather” and “Soldier of Love”, respectively.

Sade isn’t interested in joining the “collaboration” band wagon, the one that features rappers collaborating with R&B and soul artists to add flare and spunk to new cuts.

The singer said that she has turned down offers by several rappers, including chart topping rapper and hip-hop music mogul Jay-Z for fear that other artists may reveal her, musically, that is.

Sade, the group fronted by soul and suave jazz singer Sade Adu, announced their first shows in the UK since 1993. The three shows in the UK were initially confirmed as part of their tour of Europe. In May 2011 the singer will be visiting the UK.

Sade was formed in 1982 while they were members of Pride, the Latin soul band. Sade Adu, Paul Spender Denman, Stuart Matthewman and Paul Anthony Cook established the break away band and start to write original material. The debut album from Sade, “Diamond Life,” in late 1984 skyrocketed into the UK’s Top Ten and became Platinum. Sade won a Grammy Award as Best New Artist. To date the band has sold 23.5 million certified US units. Their worldwide sales to date are at over 50 million units.
