Top nominees for the 2010 BET Awards include Melanie Fiona, Trey Songz, Alicia Keys, Beyonce and Jay-Z, along with Rihanna, singer of “Rated R,” and Sade with her chart-topper “Soldier of Love.” The music-related nominees for this year are rounded out by Ester Dean, Chrisette Michele, Trina, Fabolous, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj and Monica. The nominees were announced on May 18.

After a hiatus of 10 years, Sade Adu has made her reappearance onto the music scene by releasing “Soldier of Love, her remarkable new album. Upon close review of the set you will find that where secular and sacred meet, at the crux is where Sade lies. The ten Soldier tracks flow together seamlessly showing the spiritual and harmonious connection between Sade Adu, lead singer, Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale and Paul Spencer Denman.

The singer Sade, former resident of Ocho Rios, is topping the jazz charts online with the “Soldier of Love” single just one day after the song was released. Since it was released on January 1, the song has been played over 55,000 a day and topped the jazz charts of MySpace. The video is for the title single from her forthcoming album set to be released February 8.

Last month “Soldier Of Love,” Sade’s new single, came out. The music video today premiered on Amazon. Sade Adu, the front woman, doesn’t appear to have aged even a day since 1984 when “Diamond Life” was released. The entire “Soldier of Love” album is due to be released on February 8. It will be the first studio album released by Sade in ten years. That must be nice to get to the point where you can take a decade off.

With Sade’s first album to be released in nine years scheduled for a February 8 worldwide release date, the singer is gearing up for her first European tour and then a US trek to support “Soldier of Love,” her new album. It’s been nine years since Sade toured as well.

With Sade missing in action pretty much since her “Lover’s Rock” CD of 2000, it seems fitting that “Soldier of Love,” her new single, has a military vibe to it. The singer compares love turmoils with those from war.

During the 1980s when Sade first hit the recording scene Epic, her record company, made the point of printing that her name was pronounced “shar-day” following her name on the album labels. The world soon enough wouldn’t have any problems pronouncing her name correctly.

The reclusive soul singer Sade Adu, who is notorious for taking long breaks in between her releases, has rejoined her band and is recording an album with new material for the first time since her 2000 album “Lovers Rock.” The band will be in the studio until June. A release date has not been set by Sony yet, however they are hoping the album will be out sometime in 2009.
